Term 3 - Week 2

Kia ora everyone!

Welcome back to my blog, and welcome to term 3! This week I will be going over what happened last week and this week.

Week 1

Back to school!

We started punctuation maintenance - punctuation maintenance is a task we have to do every week which includes the proper use of different punctuation.

We now use this cool maths programme called prototec which tests & times you on your basic facts.

Week 2

We have a welcome ceremony today, Friday, and it is for welcoming all the new students to the school. The school gives new families a gift.

Task Master
You might know the tv show called, Task Master, if you don't here is a brief overview of what it is...

There is a 'taskmaster' who sets you a challenge to complete and then after you finish, the taskmaster judges that. Basically, it is a competition that you do against other people.

We do taskmaster, but here at school, there is a person who organises the challenges then passes them on to our teachers, who then share the task with us. Our task from today was that we had to rip something in a piece of paper, my team did a tree! Unfortunately, we did not go through to the 'finals'. But it still looked goo!

Tanka Poem

Kia Ora everyone,

This week on Monday we learnt about tanka poems, tanka poems are a short poem, like a haiku, but the lines have syllable count in this order; 5,7,5,7,7. But a haiku is 5,7,5. So it's just three extra lines. The poems both are made in Japan.
Here is mine:

This poem has 5 lines and is really short but with lots of figurative language. Here is an example of a haiku...

(I found this on the internet)

Thanks for reading my blog, I hope you have a good week.
